Antony enjoyed a dream Manchester United debut against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
The Brazilian completed his £86m move to the Red Devils earlier this week on transfer deadline day.
Despite only being at the club for a few days, he was straight into the starting lineup for United’s Premier League clash against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
And that proved to be a wise decision as Antony was integral in his side’s 3-1 victory.
Antony was a menace throughout his time on the pitch as he showed exactly why United spent so much money on him.
The Brazilian opened the scoring in the 35th minute.
Marcus Rashford found Antony in all sorts of space inside Arsenal’s box. The 23-year-old composed himself and found the corner of the net to give his side the lead.
He was subbed off in the 58th minute as he made way for Cristiano Ronaldo.
His exciting highlights from the match have now been compiled. View them below…
What a dream United debut for Antony. You can’t expect much more from a player that only joined the club a few days ago.
United fans were extremely excited after the club announced the signing of the 23-year-old and he showed what the fuss was all about at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag tried desperately to sign Antony in the summer and he was complimentary of Antony after the match.
“We missed a player on the right wing, because all the players who can play there, like Jadon Sancho, like Marcus Rashford, they prefer more the centre or the left side,” said Ten Hag, per Sky Sports.
“Now, we have the one who can play really well over on the right wing. That was a missing link.
“Today, his first performance here, he did well, but I think he can step up. I know him from Amsterdam and I know this is a different league, but there is potential and he will be even more of a threat to opponents than he was today.”
Bruno Fernandes also praised his teammate after the game, telling Viaplay Fotball: “Antony is amazing. Obviously an amazing feeling for him. I’m really happy for what he did today.”
Antony will be looking to build on his promising debut when United travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace next weekend.
