Man Utd Target £92M Duo As Solskjaer Plots Late Swoop For 2 More Signings

Manchester United Breaking News

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spent over £100 million this summer, bringing in Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, and Tom Heaton from Aston Villa.

However, the Norwegian coach is still trying to add to his squad before the transfer window ends on August 31st, as the United manager seeks to construct a team capable of winning major trophies this season.

According to 90min, Solskjaer is still hoping to acquire a new right-back – ideally one who can also cover at left-back when needed – and Trippier has been Man United’s top priority all summer.

According to the report, Trippier’s camp notified United that they were open to a deal and felt Atletico Madrid would do business for approximately £30 million; but, the Spaniards are seeking the entire amount of his release clause – which is somewhat more than £50 million.

Manchester United are unlikely to spend that much for a player who will be 31 next month, therefore Atletico will have to drop their expectations if a deal is to be completed before the end of the month.

United are still hopeful of finding a breakthrough, and Trippier would be a great acquisition if a deal could be agreed upon, as he would give strong competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw in the full-back positions.

Neves also a target

Man United are also interested in adding another midfielder to their roster, according to 90min, and Neves remains a goal for Solskjaer after excelling since joining Wolves from Porto in 2017.

According to the report, Wolves are willing to cash in if a bid of about £40 million is made this summer, while Manchester United are aiming to obtain the necessary funds through the sale of undesirable squad players.

If a deal could be struck, Neves would be a fantastic addition to the United team, since he has Premier League experience and the potential to develop into a top-tier player at Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old would compete for starting places in midfield with the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay, and he’d be a long-term successor for Nemanja Matic, who recently turned 33.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress in the following days, but it appears that Manchester United is eyeing £90 million in talent over the last days of the transfer season.
