The Moment That Summed Up Martin Dubravka’s Chaotic Performance In Man Utd 2-0 Burnley

Manchester United are through to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

In their first competitive match after the 2022 World Cup winter break, Erik ten Hag’s side defeated Championship outfit Burnley 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Christian Eriksen opened the scoring in the first half, before England hero Marcus Rashford sealed the deal with an outstanding solo goal after the interval. Marcus Rashford picked up the ball 10 yards inside his own half and then drove into the Burnley box at a rapid pace.

And once he entered the penalty area, shimmying his way past a few opposing players in the process, the Manchester-born forward fired the ball into the far corner.

It was a goal worthy of winning any match – and further proof that Rashford is a player reborn.

Yeah, we have no idea what Dubravka was thinking to be honest. But it would’ve been one of the funniest own goals of the year, that’s for sure.

Dubravka certainly didn’t give the best account of himself. Barring injuries to both David De Gea and Tom Heaton, it’s hard to see him getting any Premier League minutes in what remains of the 2022/23 season.

Manchester United’s first match in the English top-flight after the aforementioned World Cup break sees them do battle with Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on December 27th.
